Wanna Iggy?

The first five people who email blog@ok-labs.com and name five places that Iggy has visited will score an OK Labs t-shirt and their very own green iguana (he is small and travels well).

Just yesterday my Google Alerts led me to a story about Open Kernel Labs in a blog post titled, Who Says B2B Social Media Can’t Be Fun? The author had viewed a case study, at a communications conference last week, about Iggy - a playful extension of the OK Labs brand. Iggy is an iguana (no, not a real one), who manages to charm his followers by traveling the world with OK Labs employees, posing for photos as he goes. Iggy is equal parts mischief and brand icon, and can be found in a variety of places online, including the OK Labs website, his flickrstream, and on twitpic.

The social media realm is filled with a sense of urgency to communicate early and often. This is keenly felt in the Twitter channel, where rapidly vanishing tweets are viewed, categorized, and consumed like snowflakes. When applied in a smart, accessible way, social media activities, like Iggy, are another way to effectively manage a brand. Keep up on Iggy’s travels and other OK Labs news by following us: @ok_labs
